Ceramics - Second Edition 2

On the occasion of Milano Art Week and Milano Design Week 2026, Ceramics – Second Edition opens in Milan as a collaborative exhibition between Athens-based Eleftheria Tseliou Gallery and The Great Design Disaster, Joy Herro’s irreverent space on Via della Moscova. This second chapter continues an ongoing series through which Eleftheria Tseliou Gallery examines the different media of artistic production, building on an exploration first initiated in 2017 and expanded through projects including Ceramics in 2018, The Video Project, The Library Show, and most recently The Library Project at Alcova 2025 in Villa Borsani. Centered on pottery as one of the most enduring mediums in art history, the exhibition reflects on ceramics as a practice that has remained continuously present across civilizations and into contemporary art, retaining its alchemical and almost magical character by endlessly reinventing itself through the same primal materials, never rendered obsolete by time.

About

The Great Design Disaster

The Great Design Disaster (TGDD) was founded in 2019 as a project dedicated to creating custom pieces through collaborations between collectors and artisans. From the beginning, TGDD was never just about objects—it was about the stories they carry, the craftsmanship that shapes them, and the history that breathes life into design. For years, TGDD thrived as a nomadic project, moving between different locations, exhibitions, and collaborations, always driven by a passion for discovery, reinvention, and creative expression. In 2025, TGDD entered its next chapter, transitioning from a fluid and ever-evolving project into a permanent space in Milan. The chosen location, a historic shop on Via della Moscova, had been home to Moscova Libri e Robe, a beloved antique store for over 40 years. This remarkable space was run by Raffaella "Dilva" Zandonella, a Milanese antique dealer and fashion historian whose dedication to rare objects and historical fashion made her shop a true destination for collectors and enthusiasts. More than just a storefront, it was a hidden treasure trove of stories and discoveries, where past and present intertwined. When the time came for its transition, TGDD embraced the opportunity to carry forward its spirit while reinterpreting it for a new era.
