L'appartement by Antoine Billore for L'Artisan Parfumeur
During Salone del Mobile in April, antique dealer Antoine Billore will take over a Milan apartment - one that feels as intimate and lived-in as his own - to present his first collection of hybrid, poetic, and mischievous furniture alongside the olfactory world of L’Artisan Parfumeur, which is marking its 50th anniversary. First known for his Instagram account, cheekily subtitled “Stolen objects for my exes,” Billore has built a distinct language through handcrafted vernacular objects, anonymous works, and unexpected juxtapositions that privilege charm over pedigree. Now expanding that sensibility into furniture, he introduces solid wood chairs, folding screens, and steles with vases made from interlocked and upcycled elements, incorporating marquetry panels, tin bas-reliefs, and small artworks into forms that feel both rudimentary and quietly surreal. More than an exercise in nostalgia, the collection proposes new functions and new ways of seeing forgotten objects, driven by what Billore describes less as design than as a deeply sentimental approach.
