HEILIG OBJECTS – CREATED FOR NONCONFORMISTS

From 15 – 21 April 2024, Daniel Heilig’s eponymous design studio bridges philosophy with process to activate his guiding principle “created for nonconformists” in an immersive scenography.

Isola Design Festival will transform the WAO/PL7 parking garage into a stage for Disclosure: Design Studios Unveiled, which delves deep into design realised through craftsmanship and the creative minds and processes behind it. Here, emerging design studio HEILIG OBJECTS will bring to life its philosophy “created for nonconformists” with an immersive five-part scenography.

In a temporary atelier, five experience stations featuring select furniture objects conceptualise the origin and realisation of the design studio’s “created for nonconformists” philosophy. The studio’s core tenets of TIME, AUTHENTICITY, INTUITION, LIBERTY and HAPPENSTANCE are each represented in an immersive sensory setting. The exhibition taps into the human desire for exploration, tactility and inspiring stories. In a live performance, HEILIG OBJECT's current prototypes will be further developed according to traditional workmanship.

Visitors are invited to explore in unlimited creative inspiration, uncover design and development processes, experience object launches and authentic stories, explore material art installations and immerse themselves in experimental staging and performances. German designer Daniel Heilig works free from the limits of his discipline. The detail-obsessed autodidact draws inspiration from everywhere. Exploring inputs from the most unlikely of sources, he experiments to discern how diverse concepts and inspirations can be reinterpreted completely or transposed to the context of interior design.
