PAST Italian Rationalism The museum-like exhibition is a celebration of Italian Rationalism taking shape within the premises of Dimoregallery. Featuring works completed during the 1930’s by Italian architects Piero Portaluppi, Marcello Piacentini and Piero Bottoni, the incredible selection of pieces is presented in a welcoming domestic setting surrounded by the gallery’s walls’ warm shades of grey. Each room of the gallery features a dedicated environment to always include one of Portaluppi’s designs paired up with pieces from the 1930’s such as a rationalist desk in the fireplace room or iconic historical creations including appliques by Ignazio Gardella and table lamps by Gae Aulenti. In this room, three unique two-seater sofas upholstered in silk fabric and designed by Marcello Piacentini for his own Roman residence called ‘Villa Quota 110’ takes centre stage.
PRESENT Dimoremilano, the label housing the furniture, fabric, decorative and home collections of Dimorestudio’s founders Britt Moran and Emiliano Salci introduce the video-event PRESENT during Milan Design Week. A film with unprecedented content and an extremely daring debut for Dimoremilano in which the pieces of the new collection are harmoniously accompanied by the presence of the human figure. Beginning a new chapter in its history, Dimoremilano debuts a neo-romantic attitude, developed using cold and unusual materials. Here, furnishings boast deep-colour shades accentuated by flashes and textiles boast patterns with essential lines. PRESENT will be unveiled on Wednesday 8 September at 5pm CET.
FUTURE Claudio Salocchi Retrospective The work of Italian architect, interior and furniture designer Claudio Salocchi is at the core of FUTURE, the third and final part of this year’s showcase at Dimoregallery. When Britt Moran and Emiliano Salci met Tommaso Salocchi - Claudio’s son - in 2019, the creatives discussed the importance of Salocchi’s modern and functional approach to design and architecture often enriched by the use of contemporary art. This is how the idea of the first ever retrospective dedicated to the industrial designer came to life.

About
Dimoregallery
Founded by Emiliano Salci and Britt Moran, the duo better known as Dimorestudio, Dimoregallery was born in 2014 at the second floor of a Nineteenth Century Milanese palazzo. Originally conceived as the private apartment of the two founders, it has then been transformed into a gallery made of 6 rooms, where mid-century pieces, both Italian and foreign, coexist with contemporary objects from the international design scene, as well as with their own productions gathering under the brand Dimoremilano. The historical pieces are selected for the role they held in the history of design, and for their capacity of combining concept and craftsmanship, shape and function, tradition and innovation. A cohesiveness to Dimoregallery’s aesthetic and identity, as well as an attention to details, are the values around which the collaboration between the gallery and the contemporary designers has developed. The gallery offers its guests a unique experience, regularly changing its set up every two to three months: the collections of the great masters of the twentieth century and contemporary designers create evocative settings with timeless and tasteful elegance.
