Building on its successful debut, ENHANCE—the groundbreaking exhibition format launched by DesignWanted—returns to Milan Design Week in 2025 with a renewed focus on material-driven innovation and global sustainability. Hosted at Basic Village (via dell’Aprica 12), the new venue at the heart of Isola Design Fest, ENHANCE aligns with the seven Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) identified by the World Design Organization as particularly relevant to the industrial design community. The exhibition challenges traditional design boundaries, offering an immersive experience that highlights design’s potential to reshape society.

For its second edition, ENHANCE invites visitors on a curated exploration of projects that transform deep research into tangible, meaningful solutions. From forward-thinking concepts to pioneering material-first approaches, the exhibition presents design as a catalyst for change.

Among this year’s exhibitors, Monostudio Associati—recipient of the DesignWanted Special Mention at EDIT Napoli 2024—will present Tempesta B, a project that repurposes fallen, storm-damaged trees into a powerful statement on renewal. In addition, one exhibitor from ENHANCE will be selected to showcase their work in Naples in October 2025, joining a carefully curated selection of international independent designers and producers.

Other featured projects include Canopy Stool by Bundle Studio, a stackable and lightweight chair crafted from a bio-composite material developed in-house; Self-Bent Chair by Joshua Klappe, a striking exploration of self-forming wood; and Trunk by Wah, a lighting series that expresses the inherent vitality of natural materials, inspired by animism.

Emeline Ong will exhibit the Bubblegum Pink Table from the Pastille Collection, a playful yet refined exploration of material expression. Shellf Life will debut Buoy, a stool that transforms discarded seashells into a dynamic seat that defies expectations. Zeoform introduces the Polar Shelf from the Iceberg Series, merging contemporary design with biodegradable materials.

Also among the exhibitors, Basse Stittgen presents the Knock on Wood Armchair, crafted from a tree-based polymer clay composed of cellulose and lignin. Wilfried Becret showcases the Monolith Table Lamp, made from unrecycled glass dust recovered through the Terre de Verre project. Finally, Debonademeo x CHROMA COMPOSITES unveil a collaborative piece that fuses cutting-edge composite materials with thoughtful design.
