Meditations on Movement

Twenty First is pleased to present "Meditations on Movement," starting on May 10th as part of TEFAF NY, with an official opening on May 16th to coincide with Oui Design! during NYCXDESIGN Festival (May 16th-23rd, 2024). French sculptor-designer Vincent Corbière will present a selection of his pieces at Twenty First in Tribeca, including works created in collaboration with his partner, textile designer-artist Anne Corbière, highlighting his unique artistic expression in wood and metal.

The pieces were selected from the period starting in 2014 to the present day, shining a spotlight on his mastery of woodcraft. For the first time, we present Vincent’s work as material meditations, revealing the artistry behind decades of research. In this selection of Vincent’s sculptures and furniture, pieces are grouped to focus on the exploration of form, experiments with texture, and knowledge of traditions of skilled handcraft. The selected pieces underscore his timeless artistry, consistently attracting the admiration of discerning collectors worldwide. Join us as we unveil this extraordinary collection, inviting you to witness the convergence of art, tradition, and innovation in the hands of a master craftsman.

About

Twenty First

New York-based Twenty First Gallery is at the forefront of collectible design, applied and functional art. The platform brings together a select group of European artists excelling in various mediums while also putting their own spin on tried and true craftsmanship. Through carefully curated solo exhibitions and a strong presence at major international fairs, Twenty First Gallery is an essential resource for unique furnishings and artworks. Founded in 2007 by French applied arts expert Renaud Vuaillat, Twenty First Gallery has established itself as one of New York’s preeminent purveyors of thought-provoking collectible design produced with quality materials and mastery in mind. Vuaillat and his team work closely with a roster of renowned and emerging talents; pushing them to think outside the box, experiment, and create new format-defying work that can captivate collectors in new ways. The same considered approach translates into how the platform forges long-lasting relationships with collectors. Twenty First Gallery believes in the value of living with design as art and celebrating work that can convey a narrative.
