Matter and Simone Bodmer-Turner are pleased to announce, TAKE PART IN, the Brooklyn-based artist’s first solo show of sculpture and furniture in clay with wood, plaster, and metal components. This inaugural show will encompass 25 pieces, with an exhibition planned at Matter's newly launched gallery space, Matter Projects, starting February 10, 2022, continuing the gallery’s exhibition programming launched earlier this fall. In early 2021, Simone introduced Chair I, her first foray into functional design. The furniture pieces in the February show will include an expansion of this functional work including a larger Chair II, several one-of-a-kind lighting pieces made in collaboration with Matter, and a set of pieces made modularly in ceramic and fastened together to allow scale in a medium limited to the size of available kilns.
