RAD DESIGN proudly announces its inaugural edition, marking a historic moment as the first contemporary collectible design fair in Eastern Europe. Opening its doors on May 16th, 2024, RAD DESIGN presents an international lineup of leading designers, makers, and galleries. This new platform serves as a testament to the vibrant cultural landscape of Bucharest that will foster an international collectible design dialogue this year and in the years to come. The director and curator of RAD DESIGN, Adela Maria Marius sees the fair as an important milestone in the development of the design sector in Romania and beyond. Her curation compels viewers to engage with the objects on a profound level: “It’s time to radically reconsider the conventional roles we assign to the things surrounding us, and our fair inspires just that by redefining the boundaries of design” according to Adela.
As a part of the exhibition, ADORNO will co-curate a design shop presenting smaller pieces from delicate glass and ceramic tableware to handmade metal cutlery and candleholders. With an impressive program of collateral events, starting from the press preview on May 15, RAD DESIGN promises a completely unique opportunity to experience the city of Bucharest hosting this intersection of cultures, art, and design.RAD Design is directed by architect Adela Maria Marius and presented by UniCredit Bank and Kultho.

RAD DESIGN’s inaugural edition, titled “WITH OR WITHOUT POETRY, WITH OR WITHOUT FUNCTION”, opening on May 16th, 2024 as part of RAD Art Fair in Bucharest, proposes an exploration of the balance, compromises and interplay of form and function.
