Driving up to the secluded, palm tree-lined 77 acre desert resort, set against the backdrop of the San Jacinto Mountains in the Coachella Valley, immediately instills one with a sense of serenity. Garden paths lead to accommodations ranging from private villas to intimate casitas, each thoughtfully designed to provide a seamless blend of luxury and comfort. The interiors reflect a muted palette and organic textures, promoting a deep sense of relaxation. The interior design embraces the unique charm of varying eras, from the Capone rooms built in the 1920s to the Moroccan-style villa built in the 1980s.

The Spa at Two Bunch features precast concrete outdoor treatment rooms, individual teak soaking tubs, and communal concrete soaking tubs set along a stone ravine that winds through the lush landscape. Its architectural and landscape design encourages a self-guided sense of discovery with no pretense or barriers to entry. A curated selection of treatments are designed to rejuvenate mind, body, and spirit. From bespoke massages to tailored wellness programs, each experience is crafted to meet the individual needs of guests– focusing on treatments that highlight the power of renowned healers, emphasizing a holistic approach to well-being. I chose a lymphatic drainage massage, which increases energy levels by removing toxins from the body.

During my stay, I also signed up for as many of the complimentary wellness programs as possible, including a diverse array of activities, such as yoga, pilates, tennis, swimming, and meditation as well as holistic workshops like like nutrition, herbal medicine, and an intro to ayurvedic healing. Additional sessions included energy healing, past life regression, sacred path tarot and angel card readings, and sage cleanses ensuring a well-rounded approach to physical and mental wellness.

It would be remiss to not mention that Two Bunch Palms is located on land that holds deep cultural and spiritual significance for the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians, indigenous to the Desert Hot Springs (DHS) area. The Agua Caliente people have cherished these lands for countless generations, recognizing the natural beauty and healing properties of the hot mineral springs. These springs have historically been used for purification and healing rituals, playing a vital role in the tribe's cultural and spiritual practices. Today, the resort honors this rich heritage by preserving the natural environment and offering wellness programs that reflect the holistic and restorative traditions of the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians.
