In a significant appointment, Henrik Purienne has been named the Global Creative Director for Design Miami/'s 2024 fair program. Known for his work as a visual artist and as the founder of Mirage Magazine, Purienne will lead the artistic direction and visual presentation of the fair across its international locations, including Los Angeles, Basel, Paris, and Miami Beach. Furthermore, Ashlee Harrison joins the team as the Curatorial Director for the Los Angeles edition. With nearly two decades of experience in the arts and culture sector, most notably as the former Director of the Americas for Carpenters Workshop Gallery, Harrison will oversee the curation of the fair. Her role includes orchestrating a discerning selection of international collectible design galleries and arranging site-specific exhibitions that will showcase a mix of historic and contemporary furniture, lighting, and objets d’art throughout the 3-acre estate.

“2024 marks a significant milestone for Design Miami, continuing the momentum we experienced in 2023 with our inaugural Paris edition and joining forces with Basic.Space. We are delighted to announce the news of our debut fair in Los Angeles, a city that is not only home to historic icons of creativity and design, but also embodies the pinnacle of boundary pushing artistry. We greatly look forward to the coming year, as we continue to grow our influential and international community, and pursue Design Miami’s ongoing mission to celebrate the best of design and culture.” - Design Miami/ CEO, Jen Roberts

The launch of Design Miami/ Los Angeles reflects a period of significant growth for the fair. Following the success of its first Paris edition in October 2023 and the recent acquisition by LA-based curated marketplace, Basic.Space, Design Miami/ is poised to continue its trajectory of bringing together the best in design, art, and culture on a global scale.
