"Design and the Wondrous" questions current adornment and how it relates to new digital logics for designing and producing design items. With a wealth of formal and technological experimentation, the exhibition is situated between a scientific "marvelous" bordering on the imaginary, and the exploration of morphologies for objects whose materials and innovative techniques open out to a future that is connected to nature and the living world.
The exhibition presents more than a hundred design objects, many from the Centre Pompidou collection. Characterized by a strong cultural dialogue between China and France, the exhibition brings together and for the first time also places Centre Pompidou works in resonance with those of contemporary Chinese designers, some of which were produced specifically for the exhibition.
Curated by Marie-Ange Brayer and Olivier Zeitoun, Centre Pompidou.
