This exhibition, which Manufactures nationales - Sèvres & Mobilier national are proud to organize in the exceptional setting of the Enclos des Gobelins in Paris, gives carte blanche to a new generation of architects and interior designers to imagine the interiors of a changing world. Through the ambitious theme of“The Embassy of Tomorrow,” symbolic spaces are being reimagined, embodying representation, cultural diplomacy, but also proximity and meaning.
Participants will be able to draw on a wealth of exceptional expertise, working alongside artisans and workshops that perpetuate the tradition of French excellence.
In 1925, at the International Exhibition of Decorative Arts in Paris, modernity was cloaked in elegance. Far from rejecting tradition, it drew on it to better project a new aesthetic into the future, one characterized by boldness, rigor, and consistency. It was in this context that the figure of the interior designer emerged, a craftsman of total taste, capable of conceiving an interior as a whole: architecture, furniture, textiles, colors, volume.
A century later, as our societies redefine the ways in which we live, represent ourselves, and collaborate, it has become urgent to restore this figure to its rightful place. The Nouveaux Ensembliers gather ten selected architects and interior designers (nine French and one Brazilian) who affirm the values of design and interior architecture as a means of reflecting cultural exchanges, innovation, and the enduring nature of French expertise.
