Afternoon Light, the online design platform founded by industry veterans Deirdre Maloney and Minya Quirk, announces Shelter by Afternoon Light, a new experiential fair debuting during NYC Design Week. Held at the Starrett-Lehigh building in West Chelsea from May 17–19, 2025, the event will feature over 100 curated brands, galleries, and designers across furniture, lighting, and objects.
With a focus on high-quality, design-forward work, Shelter aims to create a dynamic hub for architects, designers, and press, while also opening to the public for two days of shopping and discovery. Confirmed participants include USM Modular Furniture, Carl Hansen & Son, Tom Dixon, BD Barcelona, Fort Standard, Roll & Hill, Matter, Bower Studios, and Colony, along with the satellite exhibition JONALDDUDD.
Blending the energy of a trade show, art fair, and marketplace, Shelter expands Afternoon Light’s curatorial vision beyond e-commerce into real-life experience—designed to inspire, connect, and elevate the NYC design community.
