During Salone del Mobile 2025, Friedman Benda unveils Far Afield, a solo exhibition by Misha Kahn in collaboration with Capsule Plaza. Set against Azimuth, a vibrant grid of colorful mirrors inspired by celestial mapping, the exhibition invites viewers to become the epicenter of a cosmic exploration.
Highlights include Euphausiids Delight (Final Moments), a complex, crustacean-inspired center table, and A Long Winter’s Sleep, Kahn’s first work in carved marble, resembling draped fabric. “This unlimited approach to form finding is less about defining relationships and more about exploring their entire ecosystem,” Kahn explains.
Also on view are new functional pieces in mohair, cedar, and other materials, merging digital and handcrafted techniques—from a VR-inspired handwoven carpet by Stephens Tapestries to amorphous, puzzle-like seating designs such as Mole Eats Worm and Double Shuck Pea.
