Material Curiosity by Design: Evelyn and Jerome Ackerman will open November 15 at LA's Craft Contemporary museum. The exhibition celebrates the prolific careers of husband-wife duo Evelyn and Jerome Ackerman—pioneering midcentury designers who shaped California modernism—by placing their work in dialogue with new commissions by three contemporary California-based artists: textile artist Porfirio Gutiérrez, 3d printed ceramic artist Jolie Ngo, and wood sculptor Vince Skelly. Together, their works spark a conversation about material exploration, innovation, and the enduring role of craft in shaping culture.
