Soft Worlds, Sharp Edges by Studio Charlotte Taylor

Soft Worlds, Sharp Edges by Studio Charlotte Taylor reimagines the gallery as a latent, performative space. Following the acclaim of her Home from Home installation at Copenhagen’s 3 Days of Design, Charlotte’s first solo exhibition at Brompton Design District showcases the work of 30 female designers within the frame of a single bedroom. Peeling back the polished façade of domestic interiors, the installation reveals layered realities of female authorship in the home. Referencing the femme fatale trope and the interior-as-character, it transforms the domestic from passive backdrop into a site of agency and subversion, where design becomes both stage and actor.

About

Brompton Design District

A platform where design is not only exhibited but experienced, BROMPTON DESIGN DISTRICT is London’s original design district. Established in 2006 by South Kensington Estates—whose heritage spans over two centuries—the District brings together a unique constellation of international design brands, independent retailers, pioneering cultural institutions, and celebrated local hospitality. Set within the world’s first cultural quarter, stretching from the V&A to Brompton Road, Brompton has continually redefined what a design district can be. Each year, during the London Design Festival, the District becomes a focal point for temporary exhibitions that challenge, inspire, and engage.
